Hupu released news on April 30. Manchester United officially announced that Kobe Menu has signed a new contract and he will continue to stay at Manchester United until June 2031.
The midfielder, who was born in Stockport and is widely regarded as one of the brightest talents of his generation, joined the club's prestigious academy in 2014 and has been linked with United since the age of six.
Menu, who is only 21 years old, has been a fan of Manchester United since he was very young. Now, he has represented the club 98 times. In 2024, he scored a decisive goal in the Emirates FA Cup final, and also represented England in the European Cup final of the same year.
Kobe Menu said:
Manchester United Football Club has always been a place where I belong, a club like no other and a club that means everything to my family.
From a young age I have been aware of the impact our club has had on this city and I take equally seriously the responsibility that comes with wearing this shirt.
First starting from The Cliff, then heading to Lyttelton Road, then to Carrington, and finally to Old Trafford, this journey is still unbelievable until now. I have the special privilege of living my dream every day and still have the same burning desire to succeed here that I did when I first started training at age 6.
We can all relate to the momentum that is building within the club and I am determined to step up and play my part in helping United regularly compete for major trophies over the coming years.
Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox said:
"Kobe is one of the most talented young players in world football."
His technical ability, professionalism and humility make him a perfect role model for our young players and truly embodies the value of our outstanding youth system.
We are delighted that Kobe Bryant has extended his stay with us and we are absolutely certain that he will develop into one of the best players in the world, ready to play a key role in a Manchester United team competing for the highest honors.
